Just a quickie today......

Yes I'm tired and drained so I'll make this short and sweet. Let's see we got zipdry and fabric tack in today, I know nothing exciting, but we did get about 8 spools of Silk ribbon on the ribbon wall that sell for $0.90-$1.30 a yard, now who can beat that??? Now keep an eye out on our blogs for something didferent to show up in the next day or so, things around here are growing, we are taking baby steps, but have big ideas so you don't want to miss anything, (and no Kate is NOT having a baby, that's not what I mean). I know we have added more stuff to the clearance table and if you see empty end caps don't worry we are just making room for the new stuff that has shipped, and yes it has started shipping. So keep an eye out for the goings ons, because contrary to popular believe what happens at Paper Tales doesn't always have to stay at Paper Tales. Hey wouldn't that make a cool T-shirt???? or have I said too much. :0

What a mess!!!!!!!!!

Ok I decided once again I needed so organization in my life, hey it sounds good anyway. we'll see if I actually stick to it. LOL!

Well my youngest Tim is away for two weeks at his grandparents, it's sooo quiet around hear I miss him and the dogs are going crazy without him. But I sent him this picture of his room the other day and told him he could never leave again if this is the way he was going to leave his room.

He told me I needed to get ALL of my crap out of his room before he gets back home, and I better not leave a "craft smell" in it. Sad to say that is only about 1/3rd of my stuff, and most of it is out of his room now. I'm not sure what a "craft smell" is, but I'm sure the zipdry smell is in there somewhere. I told him maybe he should think twice about leaving me again, next time I could fill his room with all my smelly candles that he hates. I suppose I should go get the rest of the stuff out of his room, he does come home on Sunday. :)

By the way here is Tim at his grandpaprents.

Yup that's my pride and joy.

Prayers please.......

Some of you might know this but I think most of you don't, today is one of the big days for my Mother, she is sick and they are trying to rule out cancer. She does have swollen ducts in her pancerase and they are scoping those today before they do a bi-opsy. She probably will have to have her thyroid nucked before this is all over with, no big deal I have learned that seems to be in the family history. If you know my Mother or have heard stories about her this one is different she is actually scared, so I'm asking for prayers that she finds the peace she needs.

Thank you.

A day of play.........

Shhhhhh....... don't tell the boss I've been playing, I went out to lunch with the girls on friday, totally didn't plan on that it just happened had a good time and Grayson totally thinks I'm a freak, and according to Morgan we sure eat weird food here LOL!!!! gotta love kids. Saturday Jon and I took Drew and Katy shooting, can I just say Drew doesn't want to tick her off, but then again he knew that already her dad was a snipper in the military.

I did get two layouts done today, yes I seem to be a very slow scrapper lately. One is for the vintage LO class and the other I was just playing with the new Basic Grey Eva line, it doesn't ship until late Sept. but I got my hands on a few sheets to play with. It's a great line, it can be fresh and funky or my favorite can be used to scrap dead poeple, their Ambrosha line is the same way, I'll be playing with that later.

The Eva LO I used Maya Road alphas with Tim Holtz distressing powder on them then dusted them with pearlex powder it gave them a wonderful soft shimmer, it's hard to tell but I have pearls all over the page, and used a prima flower. I love the way the one paper matches the wall paper in the photo, just a side note the painting in the photo is of my 5th great-grandfather in the Netherlands.

This is the one for the vintage class, I used mostly paper, just to show what you can do with all the punches and die machines out there, they aren't just for cutesie stuff.

I know some new stuff has shipped already so you might want to start stalking the store to see what all is coming, there's some good stuff on it's way, but please save some for me, the Graphic 45 didn't make it thru the weekend, but that's ok we ordered more so if you missed out it too is on it's way back in stock.

Well I think I want to go back and play some more.

Until next time.

Back to reallity........

I guess it's time I turn back to earth, I've been on a winning high lately. Today I went and got my monthly shot, picked up my new glasses, and sad to say had to send my son's new glasses to him. My husband decided to send him up north to his grandparent's house while I was in Chicago, so he will be gone for two weeks. Now granted his is having a great time and doesn't need me at all, but I miss him. :( The house is quiet, no friends over now guitar music, and he's not dancing around asking me for things. So I guess I better put this quiet time to use and get some class samples done, so here is what I did today.

It's a star book I think the class is Tues. Aug. 5th. Please call the store if you want to take it or need a kit.

Here are two of the three Vintage Layout's you will do Sat. Aug. 9th. once again reserve your spot soon it tend to fill up quickly.

Well I guess I need to get back to work, more samples to make.

Now you need to go to Melissa's blog and let her know what a wonderful job she is doing, there is a link to the left. Let me tell you she has some beautiful stuff coming out and yes you will be able to get at Paper Tales, so keep your eyes open for it to come in, and yes I will be doing a book class with her new Christmas line, it is just beautiful. Well now I'm rambling so I'mm going to get more coffee, but I will leave you with a little better look at the bra.

Exhausted about covers how I feel......

It is the end of day one and my feet hurt, my legs hurt. I didn't take as many pictures as I thought I would. I did spend a lot of time talking to old friends and making new. Teresa is doing great and is so sweet when she runs over to me from across the room to give me a hug, G45 wants me to move to Utha to work for them, Carolyn and I have decide we need to go antiquing together sometime. And of course we had a wonderful time spending the afternoon with the girls from Maya Road helping them setting up the booth. Speaking of booths I know you guys came by the blog to see all the new stuff I did take pictures of, so here are some.

Now I need to get back to helping Cass and Kate filling out order forms, maybe more pictures tomorrow we have a very early class at 6:30.

This one is for Kelly's Tag

I had to come up with 7 random/wierd things about me, well let me just say I had to narrow it down to 7 things. So here goes, please don't think any less of me, I tried not to put any real gross wierd ones in there. ;)

1. Never close drawers or cabinets behind me.
2. I love to sit and eat anchovies right out of the can/jar could eat those little critters all day.
3. Don't think you should ever cook a piece of fruit, don't eat don't like it. Yes that means I don't eat apple pie. Give me a piece of fruit fresh and I'll eat just about any kind, just don't cook it.
4. Yes I have to admit it I grew up in the mountains of Ky. so I have eaten squirrel. :o
5. Don't wear short, not even if it's 100 degrees outside, no one wants to see my white legs anyway, besides it means I'd have shave them.
6. Never sleep without blankets on me, just doesn't seem right to have them on the bed and not use them.
7. I do sleep with my eyes open, sometime all the way open, but most of the time it's just my left eye, I can't close it all the way without thinking about it so it is always slightly open anyway, it has something to do with the nerve in my brain that acts up that causes my headaches.

Well there you have it, I don't know if or how many people I'm suppose to tag so lets see I'll tag people on the left. Deb, Heather, Brandy, Kate and Caroline

Just a quickie............

Ok first of all get your minds out of the gutter ladies. Man have we been busy at the store, the backroom sale is going well, today is the last day so come and get your goodies while you can. There are a lot more things we are working on you are going to want to keep a look out for, we are still doing the Altered Bra contest you have until after the 4th of July weekend to get those in, they are starting to come in and we are excited about it. Starting in July the Crafters Home store (that's us) are giving away a trip to Disney, is that great or what!!!!!!!!! We are also coming out with a one time limited edition die for your revolution this fall, are we a cool store or what, they will go fast. So please look for more info on these in the near future, now I need to get ready for work and the sale. One more thing and this one is a biggy we are having our annual Scrap Pink 3 day crop the first weekend in October so you can sign up for one day two or all three don't forget this is also when we do our silent auction you don't want to miss that all proceeds go to breast cancer research.

Until next time.

Test, test........

Ok let's try this posting thing again, I have tried posting twice since the party and blogger wouldn't let me, but I'll do that some other time right now I dn't have time. I need to let you know what is going on at the store, A LOT!!!!!!!! I really don't think Cass ever sleeps.

This weekend we are having our Backroom sales yolu don't want to miss this, there is a lot of stuff there some new some old, but all priced to go. Think of a garage sale, hey if you have Christmas projects to do this is the time to get some great bases and get started on them (hey I might have to do that myself). Another good think is if you love to alter stuff th submit or for DTs this is the place to find stuff we have stuff like chipboard books for .25 cents how can you go wrong with that.

The other thing and don't forget it's a doozy all printed paper today and tomorrow is 28% off, not even the zone beats that and you don't have to spend the gas to go out there it's win, win. The new Basic Grey is in and out on the floor and the new Yellow Bicycle both are beautiful. And don't forget to wish Mike happy birthday the sale is in honor of his birthday the 28th.

Well i guess I better get into work and price more stuff. I do want to thank all the people that have congratulated me on being on off the winners in the G45 contest, Thank you. I can't wait to see their new line.

I promise to get some pictures of the party up, it was a blast.

Until next time.

Men don't think..........

Ok let me start this post by saying I love my husband more today than I did when we started dating some 20 years ago. (wow 20 years makes me sound old). I just think that sometimes he does things before even giving it a first thought, heaven forbid actually stopping and thinking before he does something. As you know he bought a cow about a month ago, well it is time for Bessie to come to the house a month early, and she was a big cow 860 lb. hanging weight. So Jon went out and bought a freezer, once again without me, and it was delivered today and if we want to get it in the basement, well lets just say I'm NOT going to remove part of a wall. You guessed it he didn't measure anything before he bought a freezer, the thought never even crossed his mind. I must say there is never a dull moment in this house.

So proud I couldn't cry.

While everyone was crying around me as Drew grabbed that deploma, they looked at me like I was heartless because I wasn't crying, not a tear. I don't think you could wipe the smile off me face, but not one drop. I just told them I was too proud of him right now I couldn't cry, you also couldn't wipe the grin off of his face.

Here are a few pictures fro the night, I wan to post all 300+ but that won't happen, so enjoy these.

Now on a sad note it seems that our newest member to our family has died..........Bessie from a few post down is no longer with us, well I guess she will be as soon as we get a freezer, guess I need to be cleaning out the basement.

Friday, June 06, 2008

Sorry........

I know it has been a while and some of you have been waiting very patiently for pictures and some not so much, well here are some. They both looked wonderful, I just hope she was taped into the dress, but I don't think so, not only was it very low cut but it was also backless. :0

Now he graduates tomorrow and once again I will cry, a lot. So more pictures will be coming.

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so I'm a wimp, I have been lazy and haven't really done any yard work for over a year. I know I have been known as "that house" on our street. Last year we decided to do inside stuff not outside stuff, so I guess we did nothing. So yesterday I decided I didn't want to be "that house" but have had no luck with flowers the past few years due to a clay ground. So our flower beds are now rock gardens, yes I think I can grow rocks. There should be no weeds to worry about, I hope I put enough weed block down and mulch. My Japenese Maple now looks once again like a tree, no more blob that scraps along side my car as I pull into the garage, the roses have all been trimed, befroe they reached the second floor windows again, and the vegetable garden has been tilled and sodded. It got to the point were all I was growing there were weeds too. Hopefully the neighbors will start talking to me again. Right now I'm so sore from all the physical labor that I can't move, I have used muscles I didn't know I had.

What else did I do this weekend????? Went to dinner with the in-laws before they move up north. Drew has had his last day of High School, this makes me sad and proud, he is now a man.
He has graduation rehersal tomorrow morning and Prom tomorrow night, his tux came in early and was not the right size, doh!! Jon says I'm going to cry when I see him in it, he's probably right. Don't get me wrong I love the young man Drew has become but I miss the little boy that couldn'twait to get Hungery, hungery hippos for Christmas.

New day...New adventure.....

Well let me start of by saying that "Bessie" is a live cow that is living on a farm not too far from here, she will at one point make it into my freezer, but first I need to go out and buy one to put her in, a big one. And to answer Susan's question- because he can, other than that I have no idea.

I did get the Tattered Angels sample done yesterday after all the cowmotion. Now I believe we only have 11 spots for this class and a lot of interest so please reserve your spot early. You will learn different techniques and have lots of fun. It will be a messy class so please wear old clothes.
If interested please call the store. www.papertales.com

Holly Cow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok at what point do you talk to your better half about purchases?????? Jon and I do usally talk about such things, but lately not so much. I've been buying scrapping stuff, tools etc. and he's been buying guns, yes he's into fishing and shooting, nice inexpensive hobbies right ;) LOL!!!! Well he called me today that he bought something else, all I can say is moooooo. That's right no one can say "don't have a cow" to me because apparently I am a proud owner of one, yes that is right I have a cow. Now how many of you can say that?!?!? I'm afraid of what he might buy next week, although I do like bacon.

What a beautiful weekend!!!!!!!

The weather was great this holiday weekend, I hope you guys got out and enjoyed it like we did. Saturday Jon and I went shopping, he wanted a few shirts (not needed) and can we say we did our best to help the economy, I think he got 11 shirts and got rid of 2. We had fun, and yes I REALLY needed those new shoes ;) hey they have bling on them. Then we spent Sunday at a BBQ had a great time making new friends and spending time with old ones.

Well I didn't get all my samples done like I wanted but it was just too nice yesterday, and too hot in my craft room, so Cass I'm sorry but I was melting up there. But today is another day and it's not 85 degrees outside so it's not 90 in my room. But all the cards are done and will be at the store today, there are still a few spots and I'm sure we can always make room just give us a call http://www.papertales.com/

Well I hope everyone enjoys their short work week.
Until next time.
