Well this post is about Timothy's yearly tradition with his best friends to go to 7 11 every July 11th to get all the free slurpees they can. It started back when we would let them ride their bikes far enough from home to go to the 3 7 11's close to us. Now it has no limits, they drive everywhere. It is sad that this is their last year of doing this for a while since they are headed of to College and the Military I felt the need to scrap something to remember this by when I went out to Clean Tim's car out after he left and found the pile of cups he left behind from this tradition with his friends.

Sewing

I have always loved sewing, I learned how to way back when I was a kid. I remember sewing on my Mamaw's peddle sewing machine and loved it!! My Mother was always sewing as I was a kid, she made my clothes all the time, I have a different outfit for school the first couple of grades, I would fall asleep listening to the machine humming. I would sew doll and barbie clothes and did move up to sewing clothes for myself. I remember the first time I actually use a pattern for some clothes for myself and my Mother trying to show me how to follow it, it was a Linen Jacket I was making. It was right then and there I learned I was a very visual learner.

Well here is a sewing book I did for the Maya Road booth at CHA, and I did it for all the women in my life that taught me my crafts....I thank them very much.

Canvas Wristlet....

Here's a great gift idea. You can give it just decorated or even use an ATC coaster album in it for a great gift. I used Maya Mist to watercolor mine and added trim and dangles. It was so easy and quick and I think it turned out great. First I wet the whole thing with a spray bottle then I used a mask to get the detail, any mask you like will do. I then used my watercolor brush and dipped it into mist and brushed the color where I wanted it, if I wanted the color to look more washed out I added more water, or you can add more color.

WOW!!! I am really going to work on posting more often, I promise. Let's see I am going to shoot for at least once a week.

Here is a project I did for CHA and the Maya Road booth. I am so blessed to be able to play with there stuff and have lots of fun doing it. I love working CHA with them we laugh so much, it is a lot of work but we know how to make it fun at the same time. Poor David being stuck with all those women, between you and me I think he loves it. Ok I got off track there here is the project. I only used 3 pages and all the little birda and hearts and house frames are part of the book, it is a wonderful piece to work with, I sprayed the white flowers with the mist to match the papers, they are some of my new favorite colors.

Maya Road Christmas Tag

Here is a very quick gift tag I made the other day with some left over stuff from the book I made as a gift, it's a great gift tag!!!

I used the bits and pieces of paper left over from the book and covered the chipboard pieces. For this I used a mini triangle banner, a mini tag and a bird. While those are drying I cut circles to cover the inside and ouside of a super mega bottle cap, picked a flower that would match the paper chosen. Then it was just a matter of gluing it all together, I stuck a few crystal pins in the flower before gluing it down and put some to and from stickers onthe back and you have a gift tag. What tree would not be complete without a baubble on top so I just added a Maya Road resin flower. Punch a whole in the bottle cap with your cropadile and it is ready to hang.

Quick and Easy Gifts.....

Well thses are some of the pages from a quick gift I whipped together this weekend. It was so easy all you need is some supplies and you can do the same. I used Maya Road products of course. My favorite quick and easy base is the 4x4 binder album. You can make a lot with a little, their mini chipboaed pieces are great for this size and they have so many to choose from so you can do any theme. Me I chose Christmas memories. The little pieces are very easy to cover with the mist and it dries very quick. I used the acrylic tags and glued vintage pictures from my etsy site on the back of them for another embelly. Quick simple and a wonderful gift.

If you ever get a chance to take one of her classes I would suggest you run to sign up for it. There are pictures at the end of this post of a class of hers I took at the Artistic Journey in Texas back in October and there are so many tips and tricks even an '"Old Dog" like me can learn. Actually I always tell my students no matter how long you have been scrapping you can always learn something new. I love the way Katie mixes paper from different lines, and uses vintage items, and she is very patient with newbies in her classes. She has a style that is all her own and that I love. She will show you how to get things done quick and easy. So like I said...RUN don't walk.

Tis charming little book is a gift I am giving away so someone else will have a Katie Watson original.

Glitter, glitter and more glitter.....I have been asked many times how to do this technique and it is one that I learned a many years ago. So I figured I would post a little tutorial on how to do it today.

It is the lace effect with glitter. First you want to gather your supplies.
You will need what you want to cover, a piece of lace large enough to cover the item that has a good medium pattern to it, 3-4 colors of glitter you will also need sheet adhesive large enough to cover the item.

I am using a chipboard tree coaster for this sample. I like to paint chipboard first if that is what I am covering.

After I have painted the chipbaord a ight color I cover it with adhesive. Then you would securely cover with lace, placing with the pattern how you like it.

After you have your lace firmly down you add one color of glitter, then shake it off, only add the color where you want it to stick. You do this for each color of glitter you are using, remembering to only use one color at a time.

If you use 3-4 colors it looks better than if you use just 1 or 2, but the choice is all up to you.

After this you will peel off the lace carefully. At this point you can cover the rest of the adheasive with a white/iridescent glitter, me I chose to cover with gold as my background color.

At this point you are done and can add this to an album cover or you can continue to decorate with your favorite mini chipboard pieces and flowers.

I do love the vintage look....

Well I am back to teaching At The Scapbook Zone. I am very excited about it and hope you guys will all come by and sign up for some classes. I really need to post more often, I will try to post at least once week. Well not much has happened since May. I am still looking for a job, but I am teaching at The Scrapbook Zone so you will see me post my classes and dates soon I do have two classes so far on the books in Oct.

Timothy has signed up for the Army, he will be a medic and will leave July 13th of 2011. This make be both proud and sad at the same time. I am very happy that he has found something in life that he want to do and is excited about.

I went to CHA again and worked for Maya Road in their booth....I love doing this, I have so much fun with these girls- and David. Working with them is so inspiring. Here are some of the projects that I brought for the booth, I hope you enjoy them I enjoyed making them.

Oh my they have cars!!!!!

Yes I know my boys have had cars for over a year now and acually Drew has had his for almost 2 years, but I have yet to scrap them. So here thye are both boys in one book on the first day of getting their new cars. Drew got his in August of 2008 and Tim got his in June of 2009.

This book is also made totally out of Maya Road products except for the paper (they don't do paper).

This is a canvas covered with fabric, and then I used Maya Road mini sew chipboard set to decorate the canvas, and a page from the large dress form book. I love using lace and fabric in my work. This is actually so easy to do, I sprayed the scissors and needle with silver maya mist and wrapped thread around the chipboard bobbin, and I just covered the 2 dress forms with vintage book paper. The two frames are also from maya road, painted with ranger paints.

I love all the canvas albums that companies are coming out with, I just love working with material. If you know me then you know I must have been a seamstress in a past life. I love working with fabric in my scrapbooks, and ribbon and making my own flowers. So when I got a chance to play with canvas and scrapping I feel in love, I've been printing my ephemera on canvas for years so they just seem to fit. You know you can run just plain muslin thru you printer too, I iron it on the back of freezer paper to give it the body it needs and just print, for me it always works like a charm. For this project I just sent canvas thru the printer, and yes I know they make the stuff to go thru the printers but, some times you just don't have that on hand. Here's a Maya Road Banner that I printed on canvas then use fabric tac to glue is all to gether.

Ok sorry It will not let me move the pictures the way I want to. For those of you who are afraid of canvas please don't be, I did treat this like paper. I glued embellies to it just like I would any other book, I just used fabric tac.

Ok that is tooting my own horn, but I do think that this book is just lovely. I did this one for CHA winter and it is done with Maya Road goodies of course and Melissa Frances. I love the colors the vintage lace and pictures and you know I love my vintage pictures. Now you can purchase some of my class ephemera on my etsy site along with my vintage photos. Now I have to say I did not come up with this technique I read it in a Somerset magazine. When I read it I knew I wanted to try it but it was too late all the dye was gone, you need Easter Egg dye. So this year I stocked up.

1. Go get your dye and seem binding, I would make the most of it and do as much as I could at once. The dye only comes out once a year.

2. You will also need rubber bands, string, parchment paper, paper plates and vinager.

3. Mix the egg dye according to directions.

4. Cut the length of binding you wish to dye and twist and wad up and secure with rubber band or string. Remember that if it is a large piece and it is all in a ball the dye will not reach the center, make it twisted and longer. If you do not want the crinkle look omit this step and dye flat.

5. Dip in dye as your heart desires or dye all the same color.

6. Dry in microwave in 1 min. incriments, letiing cool between and after dry let the binding stay banded for a few hours to ensure a good crinkle.

7. Then unband and start creating with your ribbon.

This would be the first thing I created since CHA. Well unless you count the jewelry I made. I made a wonderful wall hanging from an 8x8 canvas. I used stuff from Maya Road... a page from their classic scroll book, their edging chipboard, dangles, pins and mist. Then I used stuff from the Paper Tales Etsy site. You can buy the supplies to make this wonderful project one these two sites or you can buy the completed one on my esty site. All three sites are listed at the places I go, you should go there, they are fun places.

I promise I am going to try to create and blog more, and maybe even throw in a tutorial every now and then.

Karen, let's see if I can remeber....ok it's very easy to do the trees. Sorry it has taken me so long to repost it for you. I posted this back over a year ago. So here is how you bleach and color those cute little bottle brush trees. You combine bleach and warm water, some people say 3 parts water to 1 part bleach, but It won't quite take that much bleach. Let your trees soak for a few minutes. I do many sizes at once, because once they are bleached you can color them fast for what ever project you want when ever. Once they are bleached rinse them well and let them dry. You can use a hairdryer if you want to dry them but I do not recomend a heat gun it gets too hot. Once the trees are dry you can make the whatever color you want. I spray mine with Maya Mist, but you can use any dye product. Maya Mist is easy all you have to do is spray, no mixing or dunking.

I know I have been the worlds worst blogger. The store that I work and teach at is closing so I have been working a lot there, this makes me very sad. Words can not express how I feel about the closing of this store, it has become my home and the place that I have met so many of you, I have truely enjoyed my time there teaching you guys and learning from you as well.

Still going with the Christmas Tree theme I've made a tree from stuff in out etsy site

http://www.papertales.etsy.com/ this is made from chenille color of your choice. I used the holly leaves and red posies to decorated it. The amount of chenille depends on the size of the cone you use, I used a 10 inch styrofoam cone which took about 12-15 yds. of chenille.

So I was driving home from work the other night, and it's dark so I really couldn't see. I'm driving in a 40mph zone doing about 38. That drives me crazy, the car about 3 cars ahead had to have some little old man with a hat in it. Me I wanted to use the center turn lane to pass him, he's making me crazy, I have places to be things to do I can't go 2 miles UNDER the speed limit. Because of HIM I hit every light, I'm cursing him the 4 miles I'm driving behind him, finally I'm getting ready to turn at a red light and who pulls in the turn lane ahead of me, that's right mister slow poke himself. Now I'm cursing at him, wait now I can see long hair it could be a her, because they seem to be waiting for an engraved invitation to turn. I mean come on there were some holes in the traffic that were big enough for the both of us to get thru. Now the car behind me is blowing it's horn. Finally we made it thru and the numskull turns down my street, come on I'm just not suppose to make it home I guess. Crap!!!! It was my teenage son the whole time coming home from school. Well I guess I don't have to worry about him driving wild and crazy. Hope he just does tick the wrong driver off. LOL!!!!!!

Well a least at the store it is. We are working on lots of Christmas projects for you. Here are a few quick and easy ones I've done, one is a vintage banner for your holiday house, it's very easy and will even fit in your office if you want to spread some hoiday cheer. The second is a set of four coasters that would be great for a hostest gift, the class is before Thanksgiving.

We will be doing the cookie book due to popular demand, a over the top Christmas card class, a Christmas card marathon, a Santa's lap book, tags and ornaments and so much more, come by and check it out.

Well Jon had Friday off so we decided to spend the day together.

Then we went to the range and really got some good shooting in, had a good time outside in the sun.

That's what I usually say when I enter the market place in Farm Town on Facebook, it seems I'm addicted to it, yes I have a sad, sad life. But while I was harvesting and plowing I did get myn ATC's done for an October class. The date has not yet been set. It is a Halloween Theme and we will be doing 8 cards dealing with canvas and transparencies.

We do not sell the chain and other jewelry supplies but I'm sure those can be found on etsy too. You can make them any color with the raspberry beads. Who knows you might even find them already made in the futer on the site.

I put out three tubs of past class kits at the store, these are those that were never picked up and yes we do have more that we need to get ready, but for those you must wait until I can get them ready. They do make wonderful Christmas gifts. Hey I know is only September but it will be here before you know it, get started when you can.

I do not like creative block, I can't seem to do anything creative and really like it lately. I think I'm stuck doing house work for now, and I hate house work. Laundry is todays job, yippie.

I signed up for Lisa Pace's All Hallows Eve workshop today, you should go to her blog (it's to the right) and sign up. they are always a good time.

I did get a class done, only because I've had it on my mind for a long time and trust me it took me days to do it. It is my Summer Fun class. This class has a ton of actual vintage stuff in it there fore it will be very limited, and "Damit Dog" ate some of the items.

I don't feel real well today, but work needs to be done so I'm trying to do a little from home, I don't want to make the baby sick at work.

I guess I should really get back to posting more on my blog, I'm getting addicted to facebook it has sucked me in, but I do love talking with some of my old high school friends.

Yesterday was a good day for me I sold all of my french ribbon flowers I had on etsy and have orders for more!!!!!!! Thank you Diane!!!

I guess I should get going to work but first here is some eye candy, it's stuff I did for the Maya Road booth at CHA, there stuff is soooo much fun to work with, and has started shipping so it will be in a store by you soon.

They always do such wonderful stuff to spark your creativity.

Just to let you know we had a small amout of french ribbon come into the store yesterday, I picked it out myself and it's going fast, so you might want to hurry in and get it while you can.

My, my how time flies......

Well I can't believe it's August already, and the heat of summer has finally hit us here in Michigan, it brought it's friend humitity too.

Lots to catch up on and yet it seems like I have done nothing. I went to CHA with Maya Road again ( I love working for them) I must say I was surprised how small CHA was, but I always have fun with the girls and David. I did get offered some teaching jobs while there, I have to look into them a little further, so I may be coming to a scrapbook store near you.

We had to put down our middle dog Rascal, he was the best dog ever, I've never had a dog that listened so well and didn't care what you did to him. He was just a big ole bunch of love, the family took it very hard.

My father-in-law gradutated from Metodist Theological School, we are very proud of him.

I do have class samples done, I know Cass is grasping her chest as she reads this, but it's true. I have the Vintage Zoo book done and Vintage page class done, I hope to get more done tomorrow.

Well I think I am going to go for now, lots more to do before bed.

and yet nothing really to post about. Ok that's not true We are supper pleased to have a part-time new teacher at the store Carrie Rees, she is super talented and we've been wanting her to teach for a while, we just had to wait until she got out of school, and she gose back soon so you better get in on one of her classes soon. Her first class is an ATC class and they are really cool, I'll show you a sneak but you might have to go to her blog to see more.

Really cool, we are also going to start up almost like an ATC club/class. Carrie's class is 8/6/09 so write it down or sign up now, she'll show you some fun stuff to do with inks.

As some of you may know that CHA is right around the corner and that means new stuff so start saving those pennies and please let us know what you see that you like. The G45 papers are up on their site so if you want to make a list it helps us when ordering.

I will be attending again for Maya Road and playing with all the goodies, and sweating in the florida heat, and playing with all the goodies. MR has some really fun stuff coming out so yhou guys need to go blog hopping and see all the new stuff.

And my favorite is ribbon and lace, I love the stuff, well I decided to start playing with it instead of just looking at it. Here is some of the flowers I have made with it, these are not done I plan on putting them on lace scraps, but I do have orders for them already, I haven't decided if I was quite ready for that but a store owner told me to get ready. or at least I'm going to start looking like it. Tim got his very own car today, he can't wait to hit the open road, heck he's out there now, he is a little bummed, some of his best friends are not home for him to show it off to.

Dexter has learned a new trick this week, he has been kind enough to let himself in and out of the doorwall screen. I haven't really watched him do it to see how he does it but yup he opens it, and why not I can't go to the bathroom without him coming in. Now if I could get him to run the sweeper.

It is June time just seems to fly by, before you know it it will be snowing and I'll be wrapping Christmas gifts. That will be at last minute too I'm sure. But since it is June and I have card class this month I suppose I should make some cards, Cass keeps asking me for them and my intentions are good when I say I'm going to do that, but there is always something that happens. Nevertheless I took some time to play today and got the ideas out of my head and actually made some cards. I must tell you that I do find inspiration other places, I love Melissa Phillips blog and Lia from Maya Road did some cute cards a while ago with their coasters so yes I used them as a jumping off point.

So with that being said here are some of the cards in this months card class, class in June 17th at 6pm, please call the store if you wish to sign up.

I'm ready to fall over, we flew out friday for Norfolk, VA. had dinner with the Theadore Roosevelt Assoc. then we were up at 4 am saturday for aride on a boat, yup the USS Roosevelt, we got back to land about 9:30 pm IT WAS AWSOME!!!!!!!!

I want a pretty blog, but don't seem to find any that really fit me, so you may seem something different here each day until I find something that fits.

I don't know about you but I am on facebook and love finding old friends, people I graduated with and have known since I was a kid, it's been a hoot. They all seem to say that I haven't changed since high school If I was walking down the street they would know it was me. I think I'll let you be the judge of that.

Me about a year ago at the ripe old age of 40. I need a little makeup here.

Yesterday was a day of learnig for Tim and I, some important some not so much. First Tim's teachings for the day

1. If you ever rob a bank, make sure you know the layout of the city first. Yes a bank was robbed by his school and the person was NOT smart he went down towards the school which is a dead end street just past thee school at the police station. That robber was a thinker.

2. Exactly how many Seniors can you fit in a moon bounce before it gives way?????? answer apparently 30.

3. Finally if you notice some people at lunch trying to start a food fight, don't throw your luch away until the last possible second because then you are left with no ammo to throw back, becuase you know it is going to start. Thank god the ketchup and mustard cover kid wasn't wearing good clothes.

Me, well mine weren't as funny or memorable.

1. I think Tim also learned this one yesterday, don't pull out infront of someone when you have the air on inn the car. I need to remember my car is not as powerful this summer, I don't have as much get up and go as I have in the past.

2. If you are tall don't get undressed under a ceiling fan, ouch......I still have all my fingers they just are sore today and missing some skin.

How do we accumulate so much stuff??????? I am seriously throwing crap away this time, I just have too much. Yes I am cleaning my room already today I have taken 2 bags of trash out and 2 big tubs of stuff to donate. I do not know why I bought some of the stuff, what was I thinking?! I do have 1 1/2 more closets to go thru and lets not forget the stuff piled in the center of the floor. Then when I have made room I will tackle the diningroom, yup it's as bad as my scraproom. I guess it's a good thing we put a garage sale on the calander yesterday at the store, I'm taking advantage of it this time. Well I guess it won't finish itself, I guess I better go.

Yet again today is gloomy outside, it would be the perfect day to stay in and create but right now I don't have time for that, I need to catch up on somethings around the house. Jon told me this week that "you know you do have a family". Well I always make sure that they have food in the house, along with the other needs in life, TP, deodorant, shampoo etc. And I do alot of my work at home so I am here if they need me. I think they miss the banana bread, homemade cookies, and turkeys for dinner. You always think you'll have more time when your kids get older, but you don't. But I am one of the lucky ones I love what I do, not everyone can say they have a job they enjoy doing and makes them happy, yes it makes me crazy, but a happy crazy not carring a gun up a clock tower crazy. I love finding new thing for the store, I love trying new techniques and playing around and discovering my own. Well I think I have rambled on enough, here are some of my favorite projects, were I just got to play.

This is a mirror, with my picture on it in decal paper, and gold leafing, what fun.

Can you tell I love texture, I dangle things, love lace and trims and if it's old that's even better.

What a week!!!!!!!

Well let's just say that I feel like I have got nothing done this week. My youngest is sick, really sick and since he is a lot like me he doesn't want to stop to go to the doctor. So yes I did get him to the doctor and he has the flu, but since then he has gotten better and worse, I hate this yo-yo ride with him, he use to do this when he was little.

I have counted thousands of beads and I mean thousands of beads for our Etsy site. So far between 50-70 thousand have been counted and packaged, all vintage made in West Germany. We have thousands more to count.

I have done one class sample this week and acrylic album from Maya Road, I learn a lot of the techniques from the DT from Maya Road too.

yes I have a few touches to add to it but, I need to match ribbon at the store.

Me my mind tells me I'm 17, but man let me tel you my body these last 2 day,, these last 2 weeks it's been telling me I'm in my 60's but I'm only in my 40's. I just hurt, now I've been climbing trees since I was 2, my neighbor even cut all the lower branch off the trees because I scared him. It was nothing to climbing the shelves in the warehouse I've been in the past 2 days, all the way up to the ceiling, it's hot up there. Yup there were nails up there, shhh don't tell Cass, shee didn't like how high up I was anyways. I figure if I got cut I breathed in enough pennacillin (sp) you know mold and mildew I was covered for infection. We did find some GREAT!!!!!!!!! items for you guys, just give us a couple of days to get it priced and gone thru on the shelves at the store and on-line at etsy.

Maya Mist...

Have I said how much I love this stuff, if you notice I used it on the organizer in the last post. It covers so well and dries pretty fast, it has a solid colr not a sheer color like the other mist out there, I've asked them to do white, but they laughed and said I'd need to paint the stuff for white. Oh well, sometimes I want the impossible.

Here's a little hanging I did using the Maya Mist, it took me about 30 min. It was out of just left overs and scraps. I used their rubons too, the whole sheet is a rubon so I used the "Road" from Maya Road and I used "the journey of a lifetime" from the bottom on the frame, I don't think you can see it in the picture.

Well It's Friday so that's my errand day so I better get started.

Spring....

I'm hoping it is finally here, along with spring comes cleaning and organizing, two things I really don't d well. But to help me along I made this new class, not yet on the calendar. I used Maya Road sheer binder, mist and chipboard. It's a scrap supply organizer for when you go shopping, that way you don't over buy or forget something that you need.

Now for you card makers out there,if you are not signed up for Mays card class with Deb, you might not want to miss it, Wally will be back. I saw him at the store yesterday, the best part of my day!!!! He's doing great. Hope to see you there. :)

I figure if I head in with that attitude it wil be good right? The sun is shining, I'm making headway on my classes and getting stuff done for NSD lots of good stuff going on then. The dogs are back to their normal selves (lord help me), the boys do nothing but run and play all day, you'd never know that one was 9 years old and had a list of health problems as long as my arm, I think Dexter was the best thing for him.

Timothy is getting to take the car out more and more, ok so twice is more to me, but he respects the fact that I need him to take it slow. Drew got a promotion, sort of at work, he now has to wear big boy clothes.

I do have a new class up at the store it is a Gentlemen's Book. Pictures will come with it, but you don't have to use them you can use your own. There is a lot of actual vintage items in the book so not all will be exact but you will have one of everything.

Dexter, Dexter, Dexter....

What is is about labs that traquilizers don't seem to work on them, I swear I don't think anything will calm Dexter down. So therefore his stitches from his neuter are not healing well. It also doesn't help that he has taken a chunk out of his cone, yup he can distroy a non-distroyable (is that a word) cone. He uses his cone to to scratch his area, he is truely a damit dog. He is still a moma's boy he tries to lay in my lap for me to rub his belly, but at 40 lbs. he doesn't fit anymore. He looks so defeated and sad in his cone. And his little face makes me sad he has to be in it, but it's for the best right now.

Yup that's what my dogs are saying right now, this morning started early. Well early for me, it was early. Get two of the dogs to the Vet, there is a reason we have an in-home vet so actually taking them is not easy. Left them both with an estimate I didn't want to see, to have them call to say it was a miss quote NOT in my favor. They both came out of their surgeries without any problem. Rascal, now can close his eye all the way and has had his teeth done, not to mention another Cushings test, and Dexter well let's just say hopefully he will be a calmer little boy for now on. When they brought them back in the room to go home Rascal was ready to see us and get some lovin' Dexter was a little mad, he turned his back to us and just stood there. So now my shins are being hit all the time by two dogs with cones on and Lacy hates them, although she needs one too, she's the one that will really be going at the stitches. They have mastered eating and drinking, it was fun to watch them try to smell for a spot to potty this evening. I can't wait to see them try to play tug of war. Here are the two Cone Heads.

Yup that's right, I let Tim take the car out by himself for the first time on Saturday. I didn't think he would do it but I gave him a small list and he went to the store to pick up the items for me, he said it was a taste of freedom. I guess we both grew a little this weekend, and we both caught Jon's cold. So because I have been feeling under the weather I watched a lot of movies this weekend, I laughed and cried, I saw Marley and Me. I knew all about the movie and Jon even read the book but both of us cried like babies, not a movie to watch when you have a dog going thru health issues.

Well I just spent a few minutes adding a couple of new things to our Etsy site, if you like vintage then you will like the site here's a few of the items there.

I try to add a few new things every couple of days, so please check back often.

This one is going to be quick, just a little peek at the Vintage page class that is on the calendar for the first Saturday in June. Here's one of the three layouts.

I am also working on a Senior year album in a day, you'll see some of that soon, you'll do a whole album for that graduate in one Saturday, the last Saturday in May, it will be 20 pages. I'm also working on a very masculan book with a vintage touch I have vintage poker chips and leather buttons and more, that one is also schedualed in May. My mine right now is full of creativity just waiting to come out. I have lots of vintage goodies in my stash to use for most and some new trick I have learned for others.

I said I needed the sun for good lighting and I had sun, but it was so nice I went out and played in it instead, didn't take pictures. I paid for that tho, my eye is still swollen and is itching like crazy, it won't stop watering, my allergies are really bad. Now the sun is gone and snow is in the air........so today I took pictures crappy lighting and all. The book can be a Mother's day book or used for Grandma, or Aunt.

I started exercising!!!!!! What's up with that!!!!!!! I'm just walking on the treadmil but it's a start, right. I think I'm allergic to it too, I get done and my right eye swells up almost closed.

Dexter learned a new trick too, he learned to unroll toilet paper, fun.

I also have another class sample done, I don't have pictures yet, I'll wait until the morning if the sun is out the lighting will be better. I don't know what is going on with me I'm ahead in my samples and heck I'm working on classes for June already!!!!! So not like me.

Well have a good night, I'm tired I took benadryl for my eye.

That's what Jon keeps telling me when I want to beat Dexter or threaten to put him in one of the MANY holes he has dug in our yard. I don't know if there is a door in the house he can't open, I always have a little black nose peeking in at me in the shower. I know that sounds sweet, but it also means he can get in the basement and scatter that garbage all over the place, lovely. And speaking of garbage no can lid is Dexter proof, he has carried a roll of wrapping paper all over the house, shredding it along the way, he loves to take the pillows off the couch and move them from the living room to the family room, not to mention the afghan. He loves ribbon and lace just as much as me but not in the same way. Maybe when we have him fixed in a few weeks he will settle down some, he is just a buddle of energy.

Rascal on the other hand is just getting older and with that getting sicker, right now we are trying to figure out what is wrong, right now everyother test we have points to cushings, so we have one more to do to see, he really doesn't show any symptoms of it, he's a puzzling dog. Lacy is just getting old I don't think she is ever going to get really sick, and it's a good thing, she hates VETs.

Well hopefully before the weekend is up I'll have a class sample but I'm not sure, I've been doing a lot of Spring Cleaning.

Ok can you tell I really don't have a title. I do have two really cool classes for you,m taught by two different teachers but they just go together so well you'll want to take them both. First Helen is teaching a little .com book for keeping all your emails, favorite sites, and pass words in, it is just so sweet, I really need one of these myself, but that could be to much like organization. This class is next week so please hurry if you want this book, trust me you will want this book.

Then I have an address book in the middle of April, using the same Comminique line from Graphic45 and the 5x7 binder book from Maya Road. With mine you will get a little mess we are using Maya Mist, but both are quick and easy and if you don't need them they would make a great Mother's Day gift.

Well these are two things I've been wanting to play with since I got back from CHA, this line of paper I just love, I love the colors the graphics and well can you tell I just love it, but then again I haven't disliked a line from Graphic45 yet.

And you all know I'm a big fan of Maya Road their stuff is always fun to work with, always something for everyone and every occassion, size and shape and always a blank slate to let you creativity take place.

Ok down off my soap box, this is a class April 7th I think???? with the 5x5 envelope book and the fashionista line, and as always with my class a mixture of old and new and because of the vintage supplies being limited so are the class kits, so sign up early to make sure you get a spot for this one.

Well let's see, it's been typical. While I'd love to say that it was full of sunshine, smiles, creativity and relaxation, but that's not my life. Remember I live with two teenage boys and three dogs, well lets say right now the dogs are doing fine, they seem to be feeling better. Dexter, the puppy, has learned a new trick, he is my shadow and during this time of the year our doors do not always latch, so lets just say I have NO privacy, he opens the bathroom door on me all the time and just comes in sits right down.

Tim also decided it was time to shave and didn't want to wait until Jon got home, so he asked for Drew to help him. Let's just say that yup part of his lip is missing. According to him it happened in a bar fight, and as fate would have it Drew was shaving friday and now part of his lip in missing and in the same place, I guess he was showing Tim how to shave the way Jon showed him?!LOL!!!

Tim also starts his second set of drivers training this week, everyone should watch out. He is already asking for a car, he wants a mustang, right that's going to happen. Actually he is a good driver by himself, but he loves hanging out with his friends and will be the second to get his license, it scares me when he's out with them.

Who knows what this week will bring, what ever it is I'm sure it won't be dull, it never is around here.

Well here are some more of the cards for this months card class, it is on the 18th and you will be learning how to do a wonderful back ground with glossy paper and Ranger Inks so you might get a little messy.

This will be a quick post, I have a Baby book I'm working on and need to get done for class, and the sun is shining really nice right now so I need to take picture for the etsy store, where we sell really cool vintage stuff, you should check it out.

Gotta go call the Vet. too I have 3 sick dogs right now???? Not good.

Some of the pictures you are about to see may be disturbing to some, so if you are a neat freak you might want to look away. You have been warned!!!!!!

Now for a little class, people have been asking how I get the effect of spots on my inking, well it's very sinple really.

1. Start with a clean desk or working surface.

2. Protect your surface from the ink with an unused piece of paper.

3. Under that piece of paper make sure you have a nice smooth clean surface to work on, ok this part is NOT true, for a good inking effect you want a rough surface, notice the worn look of my mat protecting my desk. And be sure that you are prepared for that piece of paper not to always protect your surface.

4. Rip linen cover off the dye base ink pad of your choice, I use Ranger Distressing Pads all colors. Once you have ripped the cover off they are now no longer good for stamping only inking, but inking goes so much fast and I have mulitipuls of the colors I use for both.

5. Put the ink pad directly on the paper you want to ink with it lying on your desk top and rub away, start with the lighter color first, you can always add color but if you make it too dark you can not take the color away.

6. Just look at the wonderful marks left on the paper. For blogging purposes I'm showing the white paper under the printed, if you want more mark try leaving some string or tiny bits of paper under it, just play around until you get the effect you want.

7. Now look at the finished project, this is a card that will be in this months card class I think on the 18th. I will post the others later.

Now after seeing my desk, I had to laugh the other day when someone came into the store and asked how I organized my room????? I laughed and said my organizing skills consist of trying not to knock over a pile while stepping over it to get to the desk.

This concludes my first ever how to post, now you were warned so please do not hold it against me.

I know it's a short month but man did it fly by! Hopefully this means that spring is actually around the corner. But March does mean another vintage page class, the date is March 7th and there are a few spots left, in this class you will learn to make those wonderful flowers out of grunge board that you see Wendy Vecchi from ranger make. You will find out that it is a fun product to play with. Here are the samples.

Yes these classes are geared so even beginners can do them, but I do not expect to see any M&M's as flower centers (Linda) or do I want to explain the you what an ink pen is (Judy). Neither of you are beginners, and should know better, but thanks for the laugh in class the other night.

Now if you want a class not for begiiners you should take a look at Helen's Garden book it is beautiful with a capital "B" and is filling fast.

Now if you are just in the mood for some new stuff man o man is it flowing in the store, faster than we can put it out at the moment. Come in and see it all and let the creativity flow.

Update on "damit dog" aka Dexter, he still has not stopped from the day we got him, his energy is amazing, he eats like a growing boy but seems so skinny, but strong as can be, he plays tug of war with Rascal my 130 pound dog and holds his own. I have picture from the other day. And sad to say I will not be using stencil paste in my projects in the near future, I came home from work to see Dexter ("damit dog") eating it, I don't know how he got it to begin with but he also unscrewed the lid, didn't chew a hole in it it was unscrewed, yup I chased him around the house saying a few choice words, never a dull moment with him.

Blogger hates me it just hates me!!!!! This is the third time I'm typing this, the first time I went to hit post and it just all went bye bye the other day, somewhere in blogger land, and now I just was typing about my trip to see my brother and his family and it just all went blank right in the middle of typing, so now I think I'm going to say I had a great time, laughed until I almost wet myself. The girls Kaitlynn and Missy just love their Uncle Jon, but he is weird. I wish I could see them more often, they are a hoot to be around, my brother is doing a great job raising them (who knew). Here are some photo's of the girls. I would tell you more details but blogger hates me.

I have lived in this house for 10 years now with no accidents. Yes I am at the end of a street, with no stop sign. But this weekend I must say I'm glad that there are trees in my front yard, and I wish DPW worked on weekends, now since there have been budget cuts, nothing gets plowed or salted on the weekends and even though it only snowed a few inches my tree has stopped 2 cars the hard way, better the tree than my front porch. And yes sorry Katie's car parked out front stopped one. Two people stopped to let us know, ofcourse the one that hit the car did let us know, I saw him anyway, and the third just drove off, but the tree does have car parts in it, I'm not sure he really got too far.

All I can say I I hope this weekend ends soon, and this week brings much better things.

Yeah right, when do I not have much to say. Well I just don't have a lot of time. I will try to get pictures of my Sister's book on the blog tomorrow when the light is good. And yes Iris I am working hard on the paper doll book. Now here is what you really want to know, new stuff is already in the store, Maya Road is in the computer and on the floor get it while you can it won't last long. Were working on We are Memory Keepers and Basic Grey should be in anyday now. More Silihouettes arrived today and the Feb Sweet Treats are ready to be picked up, so if you are on the list come and get it you won't be disappointed, and we have 5 extra this month if you want on get it fast they don't hang around for long.

And back to work, and just so you know if you are signed up for Sweet Treats they are almost ready to be picked up. I have to say we have 17 items in this months kit and 16 of them are vintage.

Stuff from the show is already starting to ship so you should see it on the shelves begining next week, and while I was working in the Maya Road booth and don't know everything Cass and Kate ordered I know you won't want to miss a thing when it comes in.

I also have been putting more stuff on our etsy site, just follow the link to the right that says Paper Tales online and keep checking back I'll be putting more stuff up the next couple of days. And yes we do ship international please ask about it, we try to do actual postage for international.

Well back from sunny California and into the snow, yup no sun no warmth and lots of the white stuff. Here's a picture taken from my front porch today.

Well CHA was a blast, I had a great time with the girls from Maya Road. Caroline and David are great to work for and Jessica, Lisa, Katie, Aubrey and we can't forget Matt.

Here are some projects I did for there booth, and if you have a LSS run don't walk for your own MR goodies they are wonderful and if your store doesn't carry them then you need to ask for them.

Well since I got home at 3 am I think I might go to bed now.

Yup that's what Dexter thinks his name is now, yes my new table has teeth marks on it, and while the nights are reaching 10-15 below here my nice toasty warm electric blanket is now just a blanket, he loves to open the garbage closet, I swear I could put a baby lock on it and he would figure it out. He eats MY shoes, yes only mine. He gets magazines out of the rack and eats them, I'm sorry just shreds them. He loves to play on the internet when I'm working on the computer. But he loves his mommy, he is my shadow, and I've never had a pet so happy to see me when I get home, he sleeps at my feet and is alway with me, he plays so much with his toys and provides hours of laughter and entertainment, will let you give him a bath and will alway roll over for a belly rub.....so Damit dog you have really gotten into my heart.

The sky is falling, ok so the roof is falling not the sky. If you were by the store Sunday or Monday you would see a lot going on at the store well a lot of ladders and cleaning that is. Also if you've been waiting more Silihouettes have come in at the $149.00 price you can't beat it, also we have a bunch of new Big Kicks in and dies.

I don't even know where to begin, my baby, yes my baby turned 16, man I'm old.
We are dealing with all the pre-show crap, by crap I mean looking a new stuff trying to make room and figure out how much we can spend.

Let's not forget it's also time to do inventory, do you know how many sheets of paper are in your store?????? I do they've been counted.

Let's not also forget on the home front my Mother went in for a completion of a back surgery she had 18 months ago and well now she is in the cardiac care unit with a pace maker after her heart stopeed beating many time through out the night. She seems to be in good spirits and her back seems to be doing better, and the heart problem seems to be doing well on the pacemaker.

Needless to say my brain (what little there is) is fried and I have not been able to do my paperdoll book so that class will be postpone until after CHA sometime. Speaking of CHA there are some really cool things coming out.

Well tomorrow is a new week so let's see what it brings, beside another candle on the cake for me.

Nope I'm not going to make any resolutions, I never keep them, so I don't try to set them anymore. But I do wish your new year is filled with everything you desire.

Around here all is well. No one can complain, well, it doesn't help so we try not to.

I have got another class sample done, Cass is jumpong for joy. My vintage page class is done, I have three pages done and there will be one other sample waiting on you at class. Here are the ones you will be making.

Yup I love old pictures, and yes these are all related, to me. I did over the holiday season by surprise get a few more old photos of some relatives I really never thought would have their picture taken, what a great gift. I also got more from Jon's side of the family, I just love all that is old.

Well I hope to see you at the Vintage class on the 10th, my dinner just walked in the door, so I'm going to go eat.

I hope everyone had a nice Holiday, around here it's been busy. The dogs are all getting along now, they all slept in the same room lastnight. I think all of our celebrations are over for now, at least for December. You around here 3 out of 4 of us celebrate birthdays in January, along with 2 of the Grandparents.

I have had a bit of time to do some creating and have finally made the Melissa Frances shadow box for class I think it's Jan. 6th, spaces are very limited so please call the store at 586-773-7911 to save your spot. You will get everything here or something very simular to make this box, plus a few extras, I will even include the vitage photos but you are encouraged to bring your own at wallet size is what I used, and I always use copies of old photos.

That seems to be the word of the week around here, but we also are saying a lot of good boy. Dexter sleeps through the night and even for the most part is house broken. He is VERY playful, the other dogs Lacy 11 and Rascal 9 are not to thrilled with that yet. He loves the tree and yes has brought me a few ornaments from it, but nothing has been eaten yet. I want to be done, I'm not. I'll be headed out to the mall tomorrow to get more shopping done. Who has gone befor me and bought all the girls jeans size 8 slim, my niece needs them, Jon's Grand-mother wants a sweatshirt, ok she's a petite medium, umm someone needs to cough one of those babies up. I don't have my Mother or Mother-in-law done I need to get my brother and sister-in-law stuff, one Aunt and Uncle a few things for Jon and the boys yet. I don't think the shoppers out there realize that I am carrying when I go out shopping, and I am a very good shot so please step away from the petite meduims and the 8 slims and no one will get hurt.

I know I have been tagged and awarded and plan on commetting on that in a later post I'm not sure if I know 17 bloggers right now. Thanks for the knowledge Kelly. Liz there are plenty of things people don't know about me, I'm a complex person.

This is what I miss about this time of year, the wonder you see in the faces of your children. Baking cookies decorating the tree together. All the stuff we use to do, but now they are too old to even think about doing, no letters to Santa, which ofcourse means I CAN'T say what I want to say so bad today to my youngest, "you know Santa is watching you and you are maybe getting coal" it's just and empty threat, okay it was always an empty threat, but now they know it, come on I need something here and if you are a mother of a teenager you know what I mean.

I must go try not to kill the sweet young one in this picture now.

Wow, looking at this picture no wonder Timothy said I've had that jacket as long as he could remember when I finally got rid of it this fall. LOL!!!

Ok today really wasn't bad, but yesterday was COLD and the outlook dosen't look warm. I pulled out my turtle necks and ran out and got some warm fuzzy socks. Yes I did go out for what I thought would be a quick trip, but as I hobbled along I soon found out I was going to go no where fast, at one store I was offered a wheel chair! LOL! I was not walking that bad.

Ok here are some of my cards for next weeks class, I'm sorry they are so late but I've been so busy. These are the ones here at home some are already at the store. Please call the store to sign up for the class.

Ok yes I'm grumpy today, and Mother Nature is not helping. I want to know who thinks it is ok to be under a winter storm warning when it is NOT yet winter!!!!!!

Did you know that I do well with sitting on my butt and resting with my foot up, that in it's self is driving me crazy. My foot may hurt but my bum hurts worse from sitting on it too long.

Cass was working very hard this weekend to get your Sweet Treats ready for December so they are all set and are wonderful, 19 items and 15 of them are 40 years older or more!!!!! You might want to get them fast we only have 15 and if you did not reserve yours they are going fast, some before we were done packing.

You might want to stop by the store sometime soon we are also getting little goodie bags of little vintage treasures out for sale, we are working as fast as we can to get these ready for you.

Well back to work, I'm still finding stuff for January Sweet Treats. It will be here before we know it.

The day before Thanksgiving when you are cooking.

No it is not broken just badly bruised/hurt, note to self don't drop a treadmill on your foot. Yes I know that they are for walking on not under. I'm to stay off of it for a few days, keep it up and rest, I don't think the doctor knows that I have a dinner to fix tomorrow or work to go to on friday, and as I sit here and complain about that I am still so thankful that I have plenty of food to cook tomorrow and a wonderful job to go to on friday when so many of those out there don't in these trouble times.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and spends some time with family and friends and I'll see you on Friday at the store.

How many people start their post with that same title????? Well around here it's true. We tried to go Christmas shopping Saturday and just didn't have any luck, we bought nothing, not even a candy cane. We don't know what people want and this is the really sad part that hurts me to say but some of the people we haven't seen in a while so we don't know what they are into. The kids we buy for are at the age were gift cards are best, so yes Kate if you are reading this Erin IS getting a gift from us, why because we love buying little kids presents at Christmas time, it's what is fun for us, and I think she is just about the only little one left. And I love seeing joy in peoples faces. And when I can cause it it's even better, maybe I'm sick that way but I get a charge out of it.

I hope to get the tree up this weekend, there isn't a lot of time between now and Christmas this year, If all goes well maybe I'll post pictures. I did find my dining room this weekend, for those of you who do not know I'm not a neat person, there I said it, and a lot of my junk goes right into the dining room because we don't use it. I'm talking bags and bags of stuff, the stuff I bought in San Diego a few months ago was still in the bag in there, all my die cutting machines and dies, you get the picture. Well since Thanksgiving is this week and everyone is eating here we needed a place to eat so now I hae a dining room again and not a junk room, it will last through the Holiday season because I also use the table for wrapping gifts.

Well Sunday at the store we are having a Holiday Open House, what is this you ask. Well I'm not sure. LOL!!!! Ok yes I do. We have been working on quick ideas for you to do for the holidays, either as gifts or decorations. We will be there to help you pull stuff to put it together at home or to just inspire you to use your stash. You should come and see what all we have in store for you, and we might just have cookies there.

Did you also know that this Friday starts our Sizzix challenge, you can come in on friday do a wonderful make and take for free and get a great demo for the sizzix and a chance to win one, I must tell you I have one of the old ones and never used it, but after CHA this summer I couldn't wait to get my hands on one of the new ones, it can do some amazing things. I know I've been promising this book for a few days now, but yes I have finished it, and thanks Helen for sticking up for me today at the store about being sick. Once again I have combined Melissa Frances and Maya Road. When I saw this book at CHA I knew I wanted to do a class with it, and it was going to be a Christmas one. Saw the perfect paper when I was at the Melissa Frances' booth I must say I fell in LOVE with this paper her Christmas line is to die for, so soft so sweet.

Now I do have to tell you that we do, do kits for our classes but with this one you are silver leafing, so if you get a kit there will be no silver leaf due to the fact that it can not be kitted.

Sorry the lighting really wasn't that great.

I hate being sick!!!!!!

So much to do and all I want to do is sleep, trust me I've been sleeping. I've been sick now since Thur. and I've had enough!!!!! No energy to do anything, and no voice!!!!! Me not talk, that's unheard of!!!!!!! This cold is kicking my butt. But enough about how I feel let's get to some fun.

I saw this on a website and thought is was cool, but I didn't want to go through the big mess so I made it a bit simpler for us scrappers. Ok we all know those bottle brush trees at Christmas time, the green ones in the Christmas Villages, and for those of us who are older had them thru out the house during the holidays. Well wouldn't you like to make them fight your project by coloring them????? It is so easy your going to wonder why you didn't think of that. First you start with the right type of tree you don't want an all plactic tree the color won't take mine I got and Michaels 21 in bag for $14.99 they have amny sizes in there.

Then you want to bleach them, I used a bowl of water and about 1/4 cup of bleach, it does take a few minutes and I did a few at a time.

Once this is done you want to rinse out the bleach and dry them, If you use a hair dryer please be careful, they can smoke on you. After this it's all up to you and your project. I colored mine with Maya Mist the gold then the red and green are great.

I know my red looks pink but it's my lighting, it is a beautful deep red with gold sparkles, and so is the green. The gold really does show through.

Now if you are going for a softer look try Glimmer Mist, although you don't get the glimmer you get with the gold Maya Mist.

I can't wait to start using these in my projects.
